German pastry chef René Frank,

who started his career at Zirbelstube in Stuttgart,

after which he worked in michelin starrestaurants in Spain, Switzerland, France and even Tokyo.

Today, René’s approach to pastry blends classic technique with modern, progressive interpretation,

which together make a base for his Michelin star restaurant Coda in Berlin.

Germany’s first and only dessert restaurant, where he’s the head chef and co-owner.

In 2019, CODA received its first Michelin star,

making history as the first desserts-only restaurant

to be honored in over 100 years of the guide.
