Pedro Pena Bastos is a promising Portuguese Chef whose career started in 2007 at Cafeina, Porto, after which he did several internships in Michelin starred restaurants such as Belcanto, Feitoria, Geranium and The Ledbury.
In 2012 Bastos started his own project called "Revolta do Palato" and between 2013 and 2014 Pedro was the head Chef of "Grémio Literario" private club - a project that marked the remodeling of this charismatic place in downtown Lisbon. After that, he began to work for Esporão restaurant (2014-2017), where he focused on a dynamic concept, targeting the demand for local food through small farmers and producers of that region.
In 2017 Pedro was awarded The New Revalation Chef of the year by “Mesa Marcada” and in the same year Esporão restaurant won the Gold Fork. Today his biggest inspiration is the original Portuguese cuisine.
