Oliver Piras is a young Italian chef with a bright future. He was born in Cagliari, Sardinia in 1986 where he finished the School of Hotel Management. After his education he started gaining experience working at established restaurants. He worked for Joël Robuchon in London and after that, for almost 3 years, he worked with the Cerea brothers in their 3* Michelin stars restaurant Da Vittorio in Brusaporto near Bergamo.
Other restaurants like St. Hubertus in San Cassiano with Norbert Niederkofler made his work experience and cooking knowledge more valuable. He was also an intern at Celler de Can Roca in Girona with head chef Juan Roca and with René Redzepi at Noma in Copenhagen. In 2015 he won a title of Up-and-Coming Chef by Luigi Cremona.
Today, together with his partner Alessandra Del Favero, he runs the AGA restaurant in San Vito di Cadore, within the family hotel Villa Trieste. With only 16 seats this food passionate young couple creates an exciting avant-garde mountain cuisine. Restaurant AGA received 1* Michelin star just two years after its opening.
