Marina Gaši is definitely not a "typical" chef. Her parents used to run their own restaurant and she was almost literally born in the kitchen.
After her father died, her mum decided to close the activity so she never thought of working in a restaurant until her husband and restaurant sommelier Davor Buršić suggested that they reopen in 2011. And that's when she started her cooking career with a simple philosophy – making people feel comfortable and happy.
She cooks and serves only fish and seafood delicacies, from raw to not so classic and using a lot of spices. She advices all young chefs to work with a lot of passion and innovation. Restaurant Marina has no à la carte or a fixed menu which is well accepted with her guests and in a last few years she has always been ranged high on best Croatian restaurants list amongst critics.
