He is of the finest Croatian chefs - imaginative and surgically precise as well as simple and brilliant at the same time - chef and owner of renowned Istrian restaurant Batelina .
His career as a chef began by preparing fresh fish exclusively from his family’s catch, focusing on those that were often neglected in the gastronomic offer of other local restaurants. His impressive techniques of preparing fish, crabs and other seafood show that he always respects the ingredient in the first place and treats it in a simple, yet extremely creative way.
He thrilled late Anthony Bourdain in “No reservations - Croatian Coast” and recently got his own cooking show at 24 Kitchen. He writes regularly for StoryGourmet magazine and he lectures on numerous gourmet projects. His tavern Batelina located in Banjole near Pula was awarded the best restaurant in Croatia 2014 by Dobri restorani (Guide for the best restaurants in Croatia).
